We are delighted to welcome John Cove, the Chair of Destination Milton Keynes and the recipient of this year’s MKBAA Outstanding Contribution Awards, so speak with us.

Amongst many other roles, John is also now the Chair of Milton Keynes’ bid to become the UK’s City of Culture 2029 and is coming to tell us how, as businesses, we can ‘Back the Bid’.

Milton Keynes is a city built on imagination and a place where innovation, diversity and creativity thrive side by side. From world-class events to grassroots creativity in every grid square, MK is already bursting with culture. But we’re just getting started.

Bidding for UK City of Culture is a chance to:

  • Put MK on the national and global stage

  • Bring more opportunities for artists, young people and communities

  • Attract investment, jobs and visitors

  • Create a legacy that benefits everyone

  • If we’re successful, 2029 will be a year-long celebration with spectacular outdoor events, creative projects in every community, and opportunities for local people to take part, volunteer and lead a programme that’s been shaped by you.

Businesses are being urged to ‘Back the Bid’ so we are looking forward to hearing from John about how we can do precisely that.
