First Intuition Joins Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership

Add to Calendar

We are delighted to welcome First Intuition as a new member of the Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP). As a provider of high-quality accountancy apprenticeship programmes, First Intuition is committed to supporting aspiring finance professionals and helping businesses develop skilled teams.

This announcement comes at an exciting time as we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, a key opportunity to highlight the value and impact of apprenticeships in shaping future professionals and supporting business growth. We caught up with Mel Williams, First Intuition’s Client Relationship Manager in Milton Keynes to discuss the company’s decision to join MKBLP and their vision for contributing to the
Milton Keynes business community.

Why did First Intuition choose to join MKBLP?

We are excited to be members of the MKBLP to make valuable connections with businesses in the Milton Keynes area, learn from other industry leaders, and share our expertise in training and apprenticeships. We chose to join MKBLP after existing members had wonderful things to say about the partnership and how beneficial it would be for us to join to get to know the local area and embed ourselves in the local community. Joining has provided First Intuition with the valuable support and opportunities to help our business thrive within Milton Keynes.

How does First Intuition see itself contributing to the Milton Keynes business community?

The MK centre marks an expansion to the First Intuition network in another area of the UK, as the company continues to cater to the growing demand for high-quality and accessible accountancy training to support aspiring finance professionals and businesses growing teams. We spent a lot of time researching the Milton Keynes area to identify educational skills gaps and possible opportunities in the area. Based on our research we established that there was room for us to not only make our business a success, but to give something back and invest in communities, people, and skills.

Why did First Intuition choose Fairspace MK as its classroom centre?

We chose to use Fairspace MK as our classroom centre, as the business aligns with FI’s missions. Fairspace aims to make the community fairer and send all of its profits to local causes in need which is fantastic. We hope to do more community work throughout our time in Milton Keynes.

What makes First Intuition’s accountancy apprenticeship programmes unique?

At First Intuition, we offer comprehensive accountancy apprenticeship programmes at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 7, designed to equip students with not just the skills and knowledge needed to pass their exams, but excel in their careers. Apprenticeships provide a great opportunity for young adults to develop additional workplace skills whilst they learn with the added support to help them flourish in a role. In a recent survey to employers of trainees studying with First Intuition, we found that 56% prefer to use apprenticeships over non-apprenticeship programmes for the extra skills and support they offer students. We see that apprentices also generally benefit from higher pass (92% compared to 86% for ICAEW Advanced) as well as retention and progression rates (58% of accountancy apprentices progress to a higher-level programmes).

What excites First Intuition most about being part of MKBLP?

We look forward to this opportunity to work and learn from business leaders in the MK community, as well as contribute our expertise in apprenticeships and the accountancy and finance sector to impact continued growth and development of the Milton Keynes business community and its people.
